Overview
We're committed to providing fast, effective care to millions of Canadians. While we strive to assist as many patients as possible, some consultation requests simply aren’t suited for virtual care.
To improve efficiency and ensure patients receive the right support, we’ve introduced clearer, more specific reasons for declining requests. Selecting the most accurate reason — based on the circumstances and your preferences — helps streamline request distribution and provides patients with clear guidance on their next steps.
How to Use Rejection Reasons Effectively
Please select the most accurate and appropriate reason — even if it’s a personal preference depending on your circumstances.
The reason you select will only be shared internally with Maple to improve how we send requests, optimize your time, and display a custom message to the patient.
When you reject, the request may be shown to other providers who may be able to accept it depending on the nature of the request and their circumstances.
Rejection Reasons & Patient Messages

Multiple concerns in one request | A healthcare provider has thoroughly reviewed your request.
Our doctors and nurse practitioners are able to address one health concern per visit. Your request includes multiple concerns that require separate assessments.
Next Steps: Please try again and focus on one main concern. If you have additional concerns, please submit them as separate requests.
If virtual care is appropriate, you’ll be notified right when a provider accepts your request. If it isn’t, in-person care may be recommended.
